Air Export Supervisor – Job Information
A well‑established, medium‑sized freight forwarder is seeking an experienced Air Export Supervisor to support the continued growth of its West London operation. This newly created role will play a key part in overseeing export operations, managing high‑value shipments, and leading a team to deliver exceptional service standards.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the air export function, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while acting as a key escalation point for clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day air export operations from booking through to final delivery
- Lead, support, and mentor the export team, ensuring high performance and adherence to company standards
- Oversee the end‑to‑end handling of high‑value shipments, including UK and destination customs processes
- Review and approve MAWB, HAWB, manifests, and compliance documentation
- Prepare and submit export declarations, licences, CITES, and ATA Carnets
- Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues, ensuring swift resolution
- Maintain strong relationships with airlines, clients, and internal departments
- Monitor team performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control, compliance, and security procedures
- Oversee quotation and invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and profitability
- Support management with reporting, process improvements, and operational development initiatives
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ freight forwarding experience with strong air export exposure
- Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations and high‑value cargo handling
- Ability to manage workloads and lead effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with AS400, SAP, MS Office, and CDS (desirable)
- Fluency in English; Italian or French beneficial
- High attention to detail and strong compliance focus
- Clean criminal record (DBS required)
