Pharma Import & Export Airfreight Clerk – Job Information
Medium to Large Sized Freight Forwarder is expanding its specialist Healthcare & Pharma Airfreight team at their Slough facility. This role focuses on the compliant, time‑critical handling of pharmaceutical and healthcare shipments across both Air Import and Air Export operations. Full training will be provided on GDP processes, temperature‑controlled handling, and internal systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinating inbound and outbound airfreight shipments for pharmaceutical, healthcare, and temperature‑controlled cargo
· Liaising with airlines, ground handlers, overseas partners, and hauliers to ensure timely movement and strict adherence to temperature and handling requirements
· Preparing and processing all import and export documentation, including Air Waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, Certificates of Origin, and specialist pharma documentation
· Completing Import and Export Customs Declarations, ensuring full compliance with HMRC, CDS, and all regulatory requirements
· Managing customs regimes including Home Use, IPR, OPR, Temporary Admission, and controlled‑goods procedures
· Monitoring temperature‑controlled and time‑sensitive shipments, ensuring GDP compliance and maintaining full chain‑of‑custody integrity
· Providing regular updates to customers, ensuring they are informed of shipment status, delays, or any issues requiring attention
· Coordinating final‑mile deliveries and collections, ensuring deadlines and temperature requirements are met
· Working closely with key healthcare and pharmaceutical customers, maintaining high service standards and ensuring accurate communication
· Raising invoices, capturing costs, and managing billing in line with company procedures
· Maintaining accurate records, updating internal systems, and ensuring all documentation is filed in accordance with GDP, company, and regulatory standards
· Supporting audits, compliance checks, and internal quality reviews, including GDP and ISO‑related processes
· Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to best practice development within the Pharma Airfreight department
· Responding to customer inquiries and providing expert guidance on routing, customs requirements, temperature‑controlled handling, and documentation
